About Me
I am a freelance proofreader, offering academic proofreading and editing in English language. I received training in proofreading at the Publishing Training Centre in London, achieving a merit in their distance learning course. I also have A level English Language (A grade).
I have worked in health and social care research for more than 20 years. I have a Masters in Public Health and have a particular interest in diabetes, mental health and intellectual disability research, with more than 60 academic publications in this area. |
What I do |
I specialise in proofreading and editing academic papers and PhD dissertations in applied health and social care research.
I correct errors in English grammar, punctuation and spelling, check inconsistencies, spacing and general readability. I can also check references and tables, and advise on the appropriateness of statistical methods. I correct on-screen using track changes (in MS Word), or by hand using British Standard Institution (BSI) proof correction marks, if preferred. |
